महाक्रमो महाकर्मा महातेजा महोरगः। महाक्रतुर्महायज्वा महायज्ञो महाहविः॥७२॥
English transliteration
mahākramo mahākarmā mahā-tejā maho-raga-ha ׀ mahā-krutur-mahā-yajvā mahā-yajno mahā-havi-hi
English meaning
671. Mahākramaḥ – One with enormous strides. May Viṣṇu with enormous strides bestow on us happiness. 672. Mahākarmā – One who performs great works such as the creation of the world. 673. Mahātejāḥ – He from whose brilliance the sun and other luminaries derive their brilliance. 674. Mahoragaḥ – He who is also the great serpent (Ādiśeṣa). 675. Mahākratuḥ – He who is the great Kratu (sacrifice). 676. Mahāyajvā – One who is great and performs sacrifices for the good of the world. 677. Mahāyajñaḥ – He who is the great Yajña (sacrifice) itself. 678. Mahāhaviḥ – The whole universe conceived as Brahman and offered as sacrificial oblation (Havis) into the fire of the Self, which is Brahman.

671 महाक्रमः – बड़े वेग से चलने वाले, 672 महाकर्मा – भिन्न-भिन्न अवतारों में नाना प्रकार के महान कर्म करने वाले, 673 महातेजाः – जिसके तेज से समस्त तेजस्वी देदीप्यमान होते हैं, 674 महोरगः – बड़े भारी सर्प यानी वासुकि स्वरुप, 675 महाक्रतुः – महान यज्ञ स्वरूप, 676 महायज्वा – बड़े यजमान यानी लोक संग्रह के लिये बड़े-बड़े यज्ञों का अनुष्ठान करने वाले, 677 महायज्ञः – जप यज्ञ आदि भगवत्प्राप्ति के साधन रूप, समस्त यज्ञ जिनकी विभूतियाँ हैं – ऐसे महान यज्ञ स्वरूप, 678 महाहविः – ब्रह्मरूप अग्नि में हवन किये जाने योग्य प्रपंच रूप हवि जिनका स्वरुप है
